Writers Begin First Strike Since 1988

Well it’s official: TV will now suck even harder than it usually does.
This morning the Hollywood Writer Monkeys, unable to reach a deal with Hollywood producers over such things as revenue from DVDs and internet downloads, went on strike. Instead of writing, the scribes of such awesomeness as The Big Bang Theory and Viva Laughlin will now picket 14 studio locations in 4 hour shifts between 9am and 5pm.
Tonight’s talk shows will be the first casualties of the strike. Letterman, Leno, Kimmel and the other 19 late night talk shows will immediately enter into reruns. The Daily Show and The Colbert Report, sadly, will also have to enter into reruns today.
On a positive note though, so will The View.
Reruns are bad enough, but unlike 1988, this time we’re going to get a slew of reality shows to take the place of the "scripted" entertainment. As most of you know, reality shows are the bane of my existence. I hate them. Hate, hate, hate them. So it looks like I’ll be catching up on my backlog of movies and (gasp!) books in my library at home.
Who’s right and who’s wrong? I don’t know enough to care, quite frankly. I don’t think I would care even if I did know enough. Here’s what I’m going to do though. I’m going to start renting all my TV shows on DVD instead of buying them. Then none of these assholes get my money.
The Perfect Album

Okay, you folks seem to like debating the music posts the best…
In 1999, Tal Bachman released a perfect record album. Every track on his self-titled debut is a winner. There’s not one filler song, not one track that must be avoided. It’s a perfect album.
Now before you people get all your knickers in a bunch, here’s how I’m defining a perfect album: every track has to be one that you listen to. There can’t be one you simply tolerate because you’re unable (or too lazy) to skip past it. You have to actively enjoy every single song on the album.
This is, in no way, any kind or ranking system for albums. For example, The Beatles’ Abbey Road is one of my top 2 or 3 favorite discs of theirs. But… I hate hate hate "I Want You (She’s So Heavy)" with intense passion, and hit "next" as soon as it starts. I am *not* saying that Tal Bachman’s 1999 album is superior to Abbey Road.
So now that the rules have been established, what’s one of your perfect albums?
In Case You Were Wondering How the Zombie Walk Went…
Remember the Zombie Walk in Orlando that was to start at the T.G.I. Friday’s? Wondering how it went? Well…
