Last Saturday I was playing Rock Band 3 when “Invincible” by Pat Benatar came up in a random setlist. My wife, who was chillaxing on the couch as I was jamming, asked if I’d ever seen the movie the song was from. I said I had not. She grinned. Her weekly Movie Night choice had been made.
My wife’s pick this past week was Wag the Dog (1997). It’s a film we’ve both seen but not in several years, and so we were interested to see if it held up.
During production of Glengarry Glen Ross, the actors referred to it as “Death of a Fuckin’ Salesman”. That’s spot on.
Fairies, goblins, unicorns and Tom Cruise. That means either a gay pride parade is coming down my street or it’s time for Saturday Night Movie Night.
Last weekend, my wife and I began a new tradition: Saturday Night Movie Night. I know it sounds like something every couple does on Saturday nights, but ours has rules. Great rules.
